Gold Card Cuts

Our Politician, Winston Peters, introduced the Gold Card for senior citizens. This allows them discounts on Travel and Purchases. Organisations are now seeing that these discounts can have a financial impact on their bottom line so steps are happening to restrict the use of these cards.
Grey Power is calling on the Auckland Council to retain a transport subsidy during peak time travel.
At present, Gold Card holders in Auckland can travel for free on public transport from 9am to midnight - unlike other parts of New Zealand where the subsidy stops after 3pm.
Grey Power is concerned that the subsidy might be dropped as part of a review of public transport in the region.
Supercare4u.com believes that these discount cards need to be left alone for the enjoyment of our seniors.
