It seems that within the Disabled Sporting Community there is a bit of a joke surrounding the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation sports awards .
The Disabled Sportsperson of the Year Award that has been included in the honours since last year is known as the 'token gimp award' within the disabled sporting community.
The award has helped recognise disabled athletes but a Foundation spokesperson said it would be reviewed this year and that, after these awards, it would canvass opinion and ensure that there is an an award that will fit the purpose......
Personally , we at Supercare4u.com believe that any disabled sportsperson that achieves an award should be proud of their achievement .
